Wellspring Breath

A Journey of Resilience, Connection, and Mindful Living

What’s Wellspring Breath?

Welcome to Wellspring Breath, a space dedicated to nurturing a healthy, well-balanced life through the power of sound and intentional relaxation.

Here, we blend the timeless practice of meditation with the soothing resonance of singing bowls to help you find balance, release tension, and reconnect with your inner self. Whether you’re looking to explore mindfulness for the first time or deepen an existing practice, these sessions are designed to meet you wherever you are on your journey.

What follows is a glimpse into the heart of Wellspring Breath—stories, lessons, and reflections from my own experiences, as well as practical tools to help you weave moments of peace into your everyday life.

Take a deep breath. Let’s begin.

August has been an incredible month with loads of baby Barn Swallows & beautiful butterflies! I was just outside & there were over a dozen baby Barn Swallows with their 'wobbly' learning how to fly & succeeding! They are on their own learning curve & somehow it made me feel good! We all start out not knowing, on our own learning curve & then before we know it, we know it. What was once uncomfortable is now comfortable & actually easy! And then, my next learning curve ...! I have been researching two at a time toe up socks again & believe I have found the perfect Youtube for the cast-on. He is a Brit! Looking forward to the uncomfortable becoming comfortable! Second nature! I have loads of the perfect natural creme soysilk yarn in two weights that I have had for quite awhile. Will keep you in the loop! Might even be a class!

“Each day holds a surprise. But only if we expect it can we see, hear or feel it when it comes to us. Let's not be afraid to receive each day's surprise, whether it comes to us as sorrow or as joy. It will open a new place in our hearts, a place where we can welcome new friends and celebrate more fully our shared humanity." - Henry Nouwen

This first newsletter of 2025 brings you meditation dates, a fruit salad recipe, and a closer look at the woolen creations inspired by our Icelandic sheep.

Progress is being made. Maybe in ways I wasn’t thinking it would be by now. Yet doing things which bring new thoughts to mind. New ideas on how to proceed in life. I did a project this weekend which I am happy I did & just as importantly, I am happy with & the thoughts that came with it. I’d like to share in hopes it helps someone else begin, proceed & finish. We have three spider plants & a golden pothos that needed to get off a dresser & hung so Ralph (‘Rafe’, one of our dog-cats) would lose his grazing rights. I was determined to make the hangers, but not making any progress as the basket of hemp twine sat for awhile. A real long awhile.

About Us

Wellspring Woolens was born from a serendipitous encounter at the 1997 Minnesota State Fair. Melinda and Jon stumbled upon an extraordinary Icelandic ram named Ragnar, igniting a passion that would forever change their lives. Despite facing the devastation of a tornado in 1998, which tested their resilience, they embraced a new path rooted in sustainability and connection with nature.

Starting with two cherished lambs, Ivan and Inger, they built their dream from the ground up on a humble alfalfa field. Today, the Wellspring Collection stands as a testament to their journey—a place where wellness, mindful living, and handcrafted beauty come together.
